Layout of a Review
Reviews follow a simple four part structure.
Different textbooks and teachers have different headings to help students to remember the structure. This is one of them.
It's the I.D.E.A. structure.
The beauty of this structure is that it can be used to review anything: films, books, restaurants, plays, x-box games, shops. You name it, IDEA can review it.
Introduction – a sentence or two about what the film is called, who is in it and who the director/writer is.
Description – a quick description of what the storyline. (without giving away too much)
Evaluation – The good points of the film.
- At this point you should mention a favourite scene.
-The weak points of the film.
Audience – Who do you think would enjoy this film?
Give a mark out of five.
