I loved Life of Pi.It was so much better than the film.
The description of waking up in the zoo was beautiful.

Many great contenders here. 'The Catcher in the Rye' and 'Of Mice and Men' are classics, while books like 'The Hunger Games' and 'Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix' are modern fictions, aimed at being more fantastical (Is that even a word?)
However, while Of Mice and Men is by far the best book I've read in my times of CCS, Harry Potter is my childhood in a book and what developed my love for reading, so it has to be HP & the Half Blood Prince.
